Polistyrene surrounds us every day – mostly as a cheap and unnoticed packaging material and throwaway item. But what are the potentials of the foam material? Does it have aesthetic and space shaping properties beyond its physical and thermal capabilities? During this cooperation project, the use of a digital heating wire machine provided by our partner was at least as important as the material itself. Supported by the computer-controlled cutting technology, it was possible to develop volume models with complex three-dimensional geometry.
